A02-04: Photoshop Actions and Droplets
Objectives:
- Learn how to record actions in Photoshop. (Be sure to explore the links in the following paragraphs!)
- Learn how to create a Photoshop droplet.
- Learn how to batch process images in Photoshop.
Learn:
There are times when we have to do very repetitive processes in Photoshop. Wouldn't it be nice if we could have Photoshop record the steps we take to manipulate an image, and then be able to play back those same steps in just a second or so on other images that need the same process applied to them? Wouldn't it be nice if we could batch process a bunch of images at the same time? Photoshop can do that! When we have Photoshop record a series of steps - it saves it as an action. We can save an action as a droplet - a small application we can drop a batch of images on - and then have them perform the action on all of them. |
Or, you can batch process them if you don't want to create a droplet.
Let's see how this works - we'll be creating and using an action for the next part of the lesson. Watch the videos, or carefully read through the previous links that lead to Adobe help for actions, droplets, and batch processing. Even more training is available in the optional resources below.
