A14-01: Advanced selections practice - Composite Image Challenge #2
Objectives:
- Create this composite perfume ad by cutting the model out of her background and placing her on a zebra stripe background.
- Cut the perfume bottle from its background using the pen tool, and placing it in the ad so it looks semi-transparent.
- Create the "Wild" text in the ad, and paint the model's eyelid to match the amber color of the perfume and text.
Apply What You've Learned! Exercise A14-02 - Re-Create this Perfume Advertisement
Challenge 2 - Can you take this model from her background, place her on a zebra stripe background, and create a perfume ad that matches the one I've created? Hint: Use the pen tool to vector mask the smooth areas. Use the select and mask for the hair. I have the exercise files you need here. I've created a PDF tutorial with video in case you get stuck, but how far can you get on your own? |
Evaluate yourself:
- Were you able to pull the model from her background cleanly by using the pen tool, and select and mask that captured the individual hairs near the top?
- Were you able to add a convincing shadow to the model and the perfume bottle?
- Were you able to create the "Wild" text as in the poster?
- Were you able to extract the perfume bottle from its background, and add it to the poster with the semi-transparent container as in the poster?
- Were you able to add the yellow accents so they look natural and convincing?
