Practice 3: Using what you've learned from the videos and exercises, create your own poster, advertisement, flyer, or digital display that incorporates 2D photoshop with 3D renderings. Be sure to use the design strategies you've learned this semester when designing it.
Warning: Save your work often. As I was working on the file at right, I began with a 3840x2400 pixel image at 72 DPI. Photoshop on my Mac, which is fast and has 8 GB of RAM crashed repeatedly. When I resized the image to 1920 x 1200 pixels, it worked just fine. On a 4GB RAM Mac or PC, you might want to cut that image size in half again. Design your 2D beginning, save that, then work into 3D. Save once again, under a different file name before you start rendering. Hopefully, this will save you some heartache (which I went through as part of my learning curve). |
